The Learning With Data (LWD) Workshop is a complete learning package containing background content, data browsers, data annotating tools, homework assignments, and inquiry activities. The teacher can create new content or edit the included materials and integrate the changes using the configurable menu system. The materials and pedagogy are based on over 20 years of experience teaching a large general education oceanography course at the University of California, Santa Barbara. The "Learning Plate Tectonics With Data" CD is the first "Learning With Data" product.
Future additions to LWD will include online writing support (see: earthednet.org), including peer review, auto graded homework problems, and custom downloadable content.
